Description of Document	Revision of SOIS-WIR Proximity Wireless Network Communications Blue Book to include: -- 3GPP Gateway Core Networking (GWCN) capabilities, IEEE 802.11 Wi-Fi security specification (WPA-3 Enterprise), and Enumeration of specific Wi-Fi Alliance (WFA) sub certifications. Notes: This effort will align with the current 883-0-B-1 publication date but will start as soon as possible as the revisions are just extensions on top of the current 883 book. Resources from contributing agencies are confirmed to be available for an immediate start. The schedule is somewhat compressed to meet milestones for an upcoming major international mission.
Applicable Patents	There are no patent issues for this technology that are known by the CCSDS community
Patent Comments	The existence of patents is known for 3GPP LTE/5G supporting technologies as this was the case for CCSDS-883-0-R-0. However, this is not a concern as the LTE and 5G ecosystem is world-wide, and all associated patents are reasonable and non-discriminatory (RAND).
Survey of Similar Standards Documents or Projects Undertaken in Other Bodies and elsewhere in CCSDS	The goal of the Blue Book effort is to recommend applicable wireless network standards including 3GPP and IEEE and standardize applicable protocols (such as 4G, LTE, 5G, 802.11ax, etc.) in support of exploration-class space missions. The revision project builds upon the interoperability specifications already in the upcoming CCSDS-0-883-B-0 book. The SOIS-WIR WG will liaise with SLS-RFM to ensure ITU and SFCG regulations and recommendations compliance including those for the Shielded Zone of the Moon.
