Description of Document	This Informational Report provides an overview and rationale for the SOIS Electronic Data Sheets and Common Dictionary of Terms for Onboard Devices and Software Components. It shall cover the following topics: 1. Objectives (business case) 2. Description of the use of EDS and Common DoT in the complete mission lifecycle, including worked examples 3. A walk through each element of the EDS and Common DoT XML schemas with descriptions and simple examples. 4. An annex of what is available as open source reference material to get started with EDS and Common DoT, including data sheets of the examples used in this report.
