Description of Document
General high level overview of the CCSDS Space communication protocols - more general than just the link layer protocols. This Report provides an architectural overview of the space link protocols recommended by CCSDS and shows how these protocols are used in space mission data systems. Latest Issue 2 is dated December 2007 and it needs to be reconfirmed, updated, or retired. The WG will perform the updates to align this book to latest versions of the other books about space link protocols. Reference to Space Data Link Security (SDLS) protocol will also be added.
