| The CCSDS Recommended Standard for Proximity-1 Space Link Protocol—Data Link Layer specifies the protocol, services, and procedures pertaining to the CCSDS Version-3 Transfer Frame. This draft update includes several improvements and clarifications—accomplishing better alignment and consistency with the other Proximity-1 Blue Books—and the addition of an option for Low-Density Parity-Check (LDPC) codes.
CCSDS Red Books are technically mature drafts that are released by the CCSDS for formal review by appropriate technical organizations. The technical contents of Red Books are not stable, and several iterations of a given Red Book may occur in response to comments received during the review process.
Review participation is generally limited to organizations affiliated with CCSDS (See Participation), although individual CCSDS review coordinators have the discretion to accept review comments from unaffiliated organizations/individuals.
Implementers are cautioned not to fabricate any final equipment in accordance with a Red Book's technical content.
